Solar PV panels and vacuum tube solar thermal collectors on strawbale house

The first strawbale house in Prince Edward County was designed by renowned Canadian architect Martin Liefhebber, principal of Breathe Architects, with the goal of using as little fossil fuel energy as possible without sacrificing comfort.

Besides the solar hot water heating system installed by us, which will supply approximately 60% of the energy for heating domestic hot water over the course of the year, and approximately 20% of the energy for the radiant floor system, the house features passive solar heating,  a masonry stove, and solar electric PV panels.
