In Ontario, PV (photovoltaic) solar panels and systems are a very viable source of income. The typical system will provide a 10% return on your investment. Compare that to an RRSP at 2-3%! A PV system will provide a guaranteed 20 year payout at 10%. Nothing else comes close.
Boss Solar has been designing and installing PV solar panel systems since 1990. In the early days, almost all the systems we installed were either battery systems for cottage use without hydro or were net metered, as there were no incentive plans from the utilities. We even helped build and operate the solar trailer created by the Energy Action Council of Toronto (ENERACT), for use at Hillside Folk Festival, Mariposa and other events.

The use of PV solar panels is integral to the “Net 0″ challenge, the design and construction of heating and electrical systems that create as much energy over a year as a family would consume. As well as the PV solar panels, we integrate heat pumps, floor heating with solar water heating storage and the proper use of off-peak electric consumption. This allows us to reduce or eliminate the burning of nonrenewable resources.
The PV and PVT solar panel systems we design are MicroFIT or FIT applicable. We do all the paperwork, from filling out the applications to getting the electrical permits. By the way, as of late April 2010, OPA (Ontario Power Authority) applications were taking 12 weeks to process. Book now. There is no obligation.
